ARDOVA HANDBALL PREMIER LEAGUE PHASE TWO: Leaders Safety Shooters Wins, as COAS Shooters and Tojemarine Share Spoils on Opening Day

Phase two of Ardova Plc Handball Premier League got underway today, Tuesday 25th November 2025 at the Handball section of the popular Rowe Park stadium, Yaba, Lagos state with mouth-watering fixtures that left supporters, fans and officials thrilled all day long.

In the first game of the opening day, League leaders Safety Shooters were too strong for Osun United as they defeated them 25-15 to continue their dominance and move closer to the title. The Omoluabi side showed grit, wit, and class throughout the game, which also saw one of their outstanding performer, Adeleke Segun, voted the most valuable player of the game with 10 crucial saves and stretched their opponents till the final whistle.

In other games, Sokoto Rima posted an impressive performance against Benue Buffaloes, and the result of that 5-star performance was an impressive 36-16 scoreline in favour of the guys from the seat of the caliphate who boast.of veterans with national and international experience.

Niger United beat Lagos seasiders 28-21 in the afternoon kick-off while Lagos based Tojemarine and Chief of Army staff Shooters were the last in the male category to lighten the Rowe Park and they left everyone thrilled with their exceptional and impressive performance as both side.mounted stiff and solid defence which became difficult to breach for their aggressive attack frontline. In the end, both sides pulled 26 goals each to settle for a draw.

In the female category, Ekiti Queens rallied round to beat De Defenders babes 35-26 to start the leagues second phase on an impressive note. Omo Ogheifo escaped Plateau Peacock’s onslaught with a 26-24 scoreline. Imo Grasshoppers also scooped maximum points after narrowly defeating Rima Queens 28-27.

The last game in the female category was League leaders, Safety babes thrashing Rivers Queens 40-27 to wrap up proceedings on day one of the second phase of the league.

Action continues tomorrow in league with mouth-watering fixtures, which promises to be interesting.
